I just wanted to wish all the moms and those who treat others like moms and those who really want to be moms a Happy Mothers Day. To think I was "that person" who always said I would never have kids, I thank God that He had a bigger plan for me. I am so blessed and thankful to be the person that Austin calls mama or "mooooooooooooooooooooom! as he usually calls me eleventy billion times a day.

I hope my mom knows how much I love her too. If you had a weekday session with me, she is probably to thank. She helps me with Austin (and everything else for that matter!) any time, day or night. She never reads my blogs, but just in case she does, I love you mom!

I met big sister a few years ago, but just had the chance to meet little sis last week. They are just too cute for words. We had a great time walking, sometimes running, all over the gardens. I was sad to see that only a few tulips remain but there is a ton of other things blooming there this time of year. Wonderful colors with the glowing sunsetting light.

I found a great new spot that I had never visited before while on a field trip with my son and I knew we were heading there for some of these portraits. I hate when things go bad. This little guy just wasn't really feeling it on our first session so I offered to come back and try again another day when maybe he was feeling a little better. I'm soooooo glad I did! I got to go hang out with this little cutie-patootie again on Sunday and we captured a ton of cute smiles and expressions from him. He is right around four months and that is a great age for portraits! So many smiles and expressions and not yet able to do the Olymipic-style crawl yet and get away too quickly.

I'm having issues. I'm gearing up to launch my new and improved website soon and I decided I would go ahead and make a few changes to the blog. I'm having a hard time figuring out what is the best for the most viewers. I have a 24" monitor so I can see these new huge images without scrolling left to right but I don't want it to be a pain for you having to scroll. So, tell me... We just had to get out this weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather. We decided on Tannehill State Park. It was the perfect place to spend a beautiful weekend day. I never realized how perfect a place it is for portraits. Thank goodness my little muse doesn't mind having a paparazzi momma. I have about 300 shots to go through so you may see more of these later. Get out! Are they not too stinkin' ca-ute? (Double click the image for a larger view!) I was so excited unwrapping them from their mounds of packaging this morning. These are the cutest little guys ever! Definately my best prop purchase ever. I had to snap a few quick shots of them so you could see just how realistic they are. And the best part... they haven't moved a muscle, made a mess or a noise! These little guys will be here for all upcoming sessions through April. I'm so excited about my Spring minis this year. The bunnies and ducklings are adorable! Because of my full time job (being my family's CFO, CEO, secretary, chef & maid), I am only going to offer 1 date for minis. Of course you can do a full session anytime and we will bring the bunnies and ducklings with us if you can't make the minis. There are 8 sessions remaining at this time so if you would like to schedule this event, please call or email as soon as possible.

Easter sessions: The decision on live aminals

I have had a ton of people inquiring about the use of live bunnies, chicks and even a lamb. It was a hard decision, but one I feel I have to make. I did do live animals one year and to be quite honest, it didn't go so well. Even though we did capture a ton of precious images, the animals didn't fare so well. I do good to keep my son and I and our dog and our hamster healthy and I don't think I can responsibly take care of rabbits and chickens (You know those cute little chicks turn into dirty chickens rather quickly!) So, my solution to remedy this problem... I have purchased realistic movie prop bunnies and ducklings. It is safe, clean and the best part... I get to store them in a Rubbermaid container in my attic until next year. The sample images are super cute! As soon as they come in, I will post sample photos for you to decide for yourself. I will be holding Easter minis at Botanical Gardens in February & March (dates TBA). I will limit this 6 sessions per day on 2 separate dates, so if you are interested, e-mail quickly as these sessions book fast!

I have been photographing Miss B. since she was first born. I was so glad when mom asked me to do Christmas photos again. It had been far too long. I saw them once every 3 months for a year and after she completed the her baby plan, seeing them once a year just hasn't been enough for me. It's always a pleasure and this was no exception. Thank goodness Dad had an iphone so he didn't have to miss a minute of the commentary for the AL/LSU game. You were a sport C!

One of the many reasons I love doing photography is all the new people I get to meet. While very few have become life long friends, each and every person I meet teaches me, inspires me or motivates me. I love in home sessions for this very reason. Each time I am welcomed into some one's home, I am always seeing unique things that I love! Sometimes it is landscaping ideas, interior design ideas, well the last family I visited gave me a great new recipe. Hence this post. Mom was having a snack that I couldn't quite figure out what it was. My curiosity was killing me so I had to ask, "What the heck is that?" She kindly offered me a taste and as skeptical as I was, I tried it. As Emeril would say, "BAM!" It was good, no, great, no, it was fantastic. I memorized the recipe (Thank God it was easy!) as she gave it to me. You have to try this. This is what you need. Thin steak, cream cheese, banana peppers and I marinated mine in Dale's for a little bit.

She said you get a very thin steak and make it even thinner with a meat tenderizer. I ended up buying bottom round steak I think it was. Then you put a blob (No, there is no scientific measurement for how much) of cream cheese on one end and a few pieces of banana pepper and roll it up.

Then you roll it the other direction in bacon. Then grill them. Then enjoy! You might want to make extras for lunch the next day. We were having them cold out of the fridge and they were still wonderful.

I got a mailer from Children's Place today and I love the look of their children's holiday line this year. I paired a big boys, baby boys and big girl look for this weeks What to wear Wednesday. It would be super simple to coordinate parents clothing with this. Black, red and white... who can't find something to go with that? Or better yet, you probably already have something in your closet that will work.

Birmingham Photographer | Photo Tip Friday

Thank goodness it's Friday! Here's your tip for the week. I guarantee you that this tip will dramatically improve the look of your personal snapshots and really make your albums stand out.

Being appointed official family photographer, you have privileges that others can't get away with so easily. One of the rules of etiquette tells us not to invade the personal space of others. However, when it comes to basic photography tips, you are encouraged to ignore this rule. You want to be close enough to your subject so that they fill at least 85% of the frame, while the background contributes no more than 15%. If you are a stickler for etiquette and don't want to be that up close and personal with your subjects, use the zoom on your camera and they'll never know.
The key assumption here is that the background in question is irrelevant. If, for example, you were in front of Mt. Rushmore or a famous location, you might consider breaking this rule.

Here is an example I found on my hard drive. This picture doesn't have much of an impact.

This week I was inspired by an outfit at Mini Boden. They have the cutest threads for kids and adults. I am showing you a new color palette and how mixing a few patterns can really bring a few outfits to life. Da-da-da-da-da, I'm lovin' this! It does remind me a little bit of McDonalds, but I think the colors coordinate well together. The reds, yellows and blues are a fun and refreshing step away from khaki and white. And the layers... I love them too!

If you have multiple family members to be photographed but want to use one of these collections as your starting place, choose a color from that piece and pair the other family members with that color, denim, khaki and brown.

A couple years ago, I met these little ones through a portrait party of the residents of the Preserve in Hoover.

Boy have they grown! I had the opportunity to see them again downtown on Friday and wouldn't you know, the rain pulled in with us! We managed to improvise a bit and still get some really cute shots though. They may have shared a womb for nine months but they really wanted no part of being together that day. Aren't her boots the cutest? I went home humming "These boots are made for walking" all day! It was my pleasure seeing you guys again!

Do you have that fear that sits in the back of your mind "What if my computer crashed and I lost all my pictures?" or even worse, "What if we had a house fire and I lost all those precious memories that I could never get back?". I know I do. I'm terrible about burning DVD's and storing them outside of my home. I back up DVD's and external hard drives with all my images but I go 1 step further just so I know that my pictures are safe. Off site storage is a wonderful solution to this. I found a site that helped me relieve those fears. It's www.winkflash.com. You can create an account, upload high resolution images and even order prints and gift items there too. You can create albums to organize so it makes keeping everything straight a breeze too. Winkflash has unlimited file storage so even if you never order a print, your pictures are still safe and sound! If you have a ton to upload like I do, download their Transporter software. It's super simple and saves a ton of time.

Birmingham Photographer | Photo Tip Friday

This is going to be a rule in composition. Composition is like the genetetic makeup of a photograph. Its what goes where and more often than not, there is a reason why I put things in a certain place in the frame. I know some people wonder why so many of my pictures are cropped off-center, and sometimes even chop through body parts. Here's why. The rule of thirds tells us that you should place an imaginary tic-tac-toe board on top of a picture like this.

Your area of focus should fall on one of the inner or outer 1/3 of the intersecting points on the grid. In a more close up image, your area of focus (the eyes, since that is always the focus of a subject) should fall at the intersecting point, or close to it. Your image when following the rule of thirds should look something like this.

You see that this striking senior is completely in the far left column in the grid. He is off center and the area of focus is directly on him. The remaining space in the center and right of the image is called negative space. Negative space forces us to look exactly where we need to be looking. So, Caleb's image was proofed like this.

What if I hadn't followed the rule of thirds when cropping? He would have ended up with a proof that looks like this.

Unless you are being towed for not noticing that sign, you probably don't care about it and that shouldn't have been where your focus first landed. I'll bet you $100.00 that you looked at that first. That's because it was in the area that gets noticed first.

You can adjust the composition of a photo in post processing very easily. If you have Photoshop, or even Picasa or some other photo editing software, use the crop tool and play around with your images and see how you like it. Happy cropping!

I wanted to tell everyone thank you so much for your outpouring of love, support and encouragement recently. Your phone calls, emails and texts mean so much to me. I am really looking forward to the upcoming "busy" months, getting to see some of you and your families again.

This is my little guy after his first day in Kindy. He loves it so much and I am eternally thankful for that. I didn't have time to go through any hoopla to do formal "First day of Kindy" pictures so I just snapped a few to document the day.
We call this his "sweet smile." Adorable right?

Then I tell him I miss him so much when he's at school so tomorrow I am going to come with him and sit at Jenna's desk and go to Kindy too. I asked him if he thought that Mrs. Black would notice that I wasn't Jenna? And he started laughing and said that I crack him up. Good thing he's an easy audience. I'm so glad I caught this. When I think about his laughter in my head, THIS is exactly what I see!

What to wear Wednesday

I'm really excited about starting What to wear Wednesdays. Everyone asks me "What should I wear?" and I'm hoping that this gives you a little inspiration when selecting your family's clothing for your family portraits. There is soooo much more than white shirts and khaki bottoms. I often tell people to coordinate rather than match. What does that mean? Every one's clothing should be interchangeable! Every one's shirt should easily be able to be paired with anyone elses bottoms, and vice verse. Avoiding too many busy patterns is best too. One pattern adds visual interest to your photographs. Santa pulling your little one in a Radio Flyer down the brick paved road that is Morris Avenue or holding hands walking down the sidewalk of this historic part of Downtown Birmingham. Don't worry! We have a few tricks for the little ones who don't quite understand that awesomeness that is Santa.

Just like I do everyday, I browse a largely popular photography forum. This morning I stumbled across a huge thread so I had to take a peek. Apparently, as of 2/10/09congress has passed a bill banning the sale/resell of items made for children under the age of 12 that have not been tested for possible contaminants. This law includes clothing, toys, books, decor etc. This is outrageous! Online stores like ebay and etsy are going to be hugely affected by this. It also mentions thrift stores, goodwill stores, consignment sales, salvation army and yard sales. So many creative and talented crafters are going to be put out of business. So many people who shop at places like ebay and thrift stores are going to be hurt by this. Can you imagine all the now "garbage" we are going to be creating by having to throw out everything rather than reselling?

Here is a summary of the legislature.
As of February 10, 2009, you will no longer be able to sell or buy children's used clothing under the CPSIA. Not at the Goodwill, not at a consignment shop, not on eBay. Not even at a yard sale. If you do, you face a $100,000 fine and 5 years of imprisonment. That is, unless the seller can find a government-approved way to test the garments that won't force them out of business.

The CPSIA was an important legislative contribution to efforts to strengthen product safety laws for children's products. Although well-intentioned, if left unaltered, on February 10th, 2009 children's resale, consignment and nonprofit thrifts currently selling gently-used children's items will be forced to close or close their children's departments to consumers. The work of nonprofit organizations like Goodwill, Salvation Army and many smaller groups will be severely impacted

This is one of my favorite clients, J. I swear the day she told me she was pregnant, I was so excited. I have worked with her and her precious son, H, for a while now and they are just such a pleasure. When she told me she wanted to join my baby plan, I was over the moon with excitement. Then it came time for the awkward conversation. She wanted some tasteful nude shots of her as much as I wanted to take them but it was just a weird start to an email. Anyway, once be both realized that neither of us were strange, we were both totally on the same page. I think her photos turned out beautifully. I can't wait to meet Mr. O in a few weeks.

I'm sure several people walked by and wondered why I was lying on the ground at botanical gardens. You gotta do what you gotta do though. I've envisioned this shot for a looooong time and couldn't find a hill to make it work. Well, this day I found it. I love this shot. The vivid colors are just amazing! The other shot is too cute if you know the story. W's father is a pilot and everytime he hears a plane, he looks up thinking its his daddy.

My trusty little big camera served me wonderfully for a long time. One fateful day though, enough was enough. I clicked the shutter for one last image and my camera became possessed. CLICK-CLICK-CLICK-CLICK it was going nuts! I have no idea what would cause that (hoping that the Canon repair center does though!) but it wasn't good. So, while it was a very traumatic few hours of my life, all is well. I bought a new camera that is perfection! I will say that Old Faithful went out with a bang. These were some of the last images taken with it.

This morning we stopped at Jacks to grab some breakfast. When I went to hand the lady my debit card, she told me that the man in front of us bought our breakfast and said Happy Thanksgiving. How nice was that? So, to pay it forward, I bought breakfast for the lady in the car behind us. So, if you ever have a few bucks to spare, pick up the tab for the car behind you. His $3.00 made me smile and got my day started off great!

I was so fortunate to meet this family on Saturday. They are so sweet and full of love and so super duper cute! What a triple threat. I could have photographed them all day long, well as long as I had feeling in my fingertips from the freezing cold. I want to give a shout out to all the outdoor photographers in the North. My hats off to you. I would never make it. I'd hate to be this mama and have to narrow down 70 proofs. Maybe Santa will be good to her this year and get all her prints for her :)

The wait is over! I am finally posting my Christmas calendar for this year. I am excited to announce that I am partnering with Rachael Spencer Photography to accommodate the overwhelming inquires I have had for Christmas portraits this year. We are excited about our upcoming events that we have planned with you in mind. We are offering a day of studio sessions, a day of Botanical Gardens sessions and also a day of sessions on Morris Avenue. Sessions will be 20 minutes each (one per family) and limited to one single outfit selection. The session fee is $50.00 and includes 2 8x10 prints, 2 5x7 prints and 8 wallets of one pose. Additional prints and Christmas cards are available for purchase as well. Please see below for a schedule of events.

I just found a Photoshop techinque that turns photographs into pencil sketches. Every one I have ever found did a pretty shotty job but I actually like the look of this one. I printed this out to see how it looks in print and its really cool. It's grainy like dark pencil lead. The tones and brush strokes are perfect too! Let me know what you think about this processing.

Ever wonder what life would be like with 3 boys each less than 20 months younger than the last? I couldn't imagine! These boys have the neatest names- Stone, Wilder and Jett (Excuse me if they are spelled incorrectly!) As you would expect, they were a ton of fun and a huge ball of energy. I really think they could produce enough energy to power a small city or maybe even all of Rhode Island. They were totally fun to work with today. Trust me, there are some great family photos of you guys. I just had to post a blooper! I had so much fun with you guys!

Going to get technical for a second

I took this shot today of sweet Grace. She is learning to play the piano. I wanted the shot to focus on the delicate movement of her fingertips. You can tell by the intentional motion blur of her fingertips that she was actually playing me a song at the time. You achieve this by using a shallow f/stop, I think 1.8 here. By using this setting, you only capture a very small portion of the frame in perfect focus allowing the rest of the image to be blurred. This is called depth of field. I love this shot. I hope mom does too.

I photographed I think it was 25+ people today. It was hot! It was humid! It was a long day. You know what though? When I scan through the images and find this, it makes the aches in my legs and the hurt in my head go away. Well, maybe not all of it, but it sure makes it worthwhile. This is Anna. She is a gorgeous, sweet, sweet girl. Can you guess how old she is? 17-18? Nope, she just turned 15 in May. Can you believe that? Girls sure didn't look like Anna when I was 15.

A story from a wise old man

I frequent a large photography forum almost every day. There is a gentleman that goes by the name "Pix4You". He's somewhat mysterious but always has insightful things to say that always make me think. I'm sharing with you what he shared this week. See his message below.

I was up late last night. I was working to put the finishing touches on the memorial slide show for a friend of ours. His service was today./

Beyond the bad scans, grainy pics from the 50's and 60's.

Difficult color callibration issues for some of those polyester jumpsuits from the 60's and 70's.

Blurry and poorly framed images of family time and children...

I saw a life recorded by photographs...57 years of photographs from a baby in a bassinet to a valiant cancer patient. From a little boy in a peddal car, to a captain of his own boat.

Ski trips, picnics, beach parties, dinners in, dinners out, dancing, births, weddings, graduations, first steps and first cars...All pictures of a life.

Now here is the tough part...

[b]When was the last time someone took YOUR picture? [/b]

Do you use your camera as a shield? Do you prefer to be the one "not pictured"

I was thinking of it today, and I realized that at my memorial service, it would be difficult to put together 2 minutes worth of photos let alone 15.

I'm not super attractive, I'm not thin, I'm not fat. I'm not special in any way...to myself.

But rest assured. You MATTER. You matter to those around you...leave them a part of yourself and get in front of the camera for a change.

One other aside...

I once worked as a newspaper photographer. I knew a young lady who was an excellent photographer. She drove up to South Carolina for a family reunion. And for the first time in many years, she gave the camera to someone else. She posed for pictures with family and friends. She had a great time!

On a late night assignment 2 weeks later, her car skidded on the road, left the highway, and hit a tree. She was killed instantly.

But her family had pictures...Photographs...memories.

I urge you to stop hiding behind the camera and get your picture taken.

Workshop Changes

The August 16th date is tentative once again. I have received numerous emails that that weekend isn't good because of school starting, vacations, etc. I am going to rethink the date and maybe push it back a bit to a date later in the early Fall to hopefully accomodate more clients wanting to attend. So, if you have requested a registration form and I haven't replied, that is way. I do not want to accept registration fees until plans are more definite. Workshop Details

Exciting news! I have secured a date and location for the workshop. It will be on Saturday, August 16, 2008. We will have discussion from 10am until noon. Break for lunch from 12pm until 1pm then continue discussion until 4pm. We will then dismiss and travel to a different location (probably Botanical Gardens) at 4:45 and work with child models for about an hour for those who are interested in that portion of the workshop.

Where: Park Place (A rec facility owned by the city of Gardendale
When: Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 10-5
Cost: $50 includes discussion, lunch and workbook of covered materials

Just to field a few questions I am repeatedly being asked...

I have a basic point and shoot camera. Would it benefit me?
There will be some technical discussion for those with SLR cameras and point and shoot cameras with manual settings. If you camera only has one option of Auto, that part of the discussion will be a bit over your head but you can still benefit from the rest of the discussion.

I shoot film. Should I come?
Definitely. For the most part, a film camera and digital camera operate the same way.

What should I bring?
You and your camera, charged batteries and plenty of memory!

Can I invite a friend?
Definitely! I will be accepting the first 20 paying applicants to attend.

I don't have Photoshop. Can I still benefit from this?
Of course. Photoshop is just one piece of the magic! I am also going to direct you to free resources for editing.

I can't make it that day. Will you host another workshop?
Anything is possible! Depending on interest, future workshops will be determined.

My kid is so cute. Can he/she be one of the models?
I will be seeking at least 5 child models for us to practice with at the shooting session. If you think your child would enjoy this, please let me know and we'll discuss this further. My son is programmed to do well so he will be an easy target for the group. If you know your child doesn't naturally enjoy being photographed, it's probably not a good idea!

The Photographer in You Workshop

After an overwhelming response for hosting a beginner photography workshop, I am going to make it happen. The covered materials and logistics are still being worked out but it will happen. I've created an outline of basic topics covered. If there is something specific you'd like to hear discussed, please feel free to let me know. A location is still in the works. There are places in Gardendale that I can rent but there isn't a place to do the shooting. I could do it at Botanical Gardens, but then we were battling the heat all day. So, that is going to take some working out. Any suggestions? The cost will be $50.00. A catered lunch will be provided. You will leave with a booklet of general information, vendor information and photoshop tips as well.

I can't believe...

that it is almost June. I cannot believe that this year is almost 1/2 over! Before we know it, it will be Halloween then Thanksgiving then Christmas. So, just a few updates. I have very few openings remaining in June and a few in July right now. If you are considering Summer photos, now is the time to schedule them.

Around the first of July, I will be posting a list of upcoming events through the end of the year. I have a lot of fresh and fun ideas in the works that I'm sure you will love. (Think pettiskirts and lollipops!) I will also be posting my Fall calendar with a few "Cut out the Christmas Card Choas" sessions in the early Fall. Once all the dates are posted, I am going to set a tentative day to open my calendar. I can only accomodate so many so you'll have fair warning about what is going on and when you can book. After that, sessions and party dates are first come first serve.

We rented an awesome movie last night that I wanted to share with all of you. It's called Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. It is starring Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman and Jason Bateman. It is a wonderful story about love, hope, dreams, faith and magic. I'm not sure what possessed me to pick out this movie from the 1,000's of others at Blockbuster but it was the perfect selection for me yesterday. This is little Miss Reese, otherwise known as Tater. She is just a little doll! So full of life and energy. She will ham it up for the camera just about on command. Such a spunky little kid. Doesn't her smile just make you smile?

I've had tons of people ask me basic "How can I make my pictures better?" questions. It's hard for me to explain everything in the nutshell type answer they want so I'm toying the idea of hosting a workshop of sorts giving basic technical information, a bit of creative information, basic editing processes and a list of reputable print labs. I'm thinking possibly a day course with catered lunch and an hour or so of shooting time with child models. If this is something you would be interested in, please leave me a comment or send me an email to kristy@kristyevansphotography.com and let me know. If this thought becomes a reality, I will limit the number of attendees to 15. If there is more interest, I will consider hosting more events in the future.

I've been tagged by another photographer to post 10 things about me you might not know. So, here goes...

1. I love chapstick. I have about 30 different flavors. Avon chapstick-- the bomb! My favorite flavor is buttercream icing! Yummy. I wonder if it has calories?

2. I got my drivers license when I was 15 because I lived in Mississippi the months before I turned 15. My mom took me back there to get my license using my dads address. I thought I was big stuff with my license earlier than everyone else.

3. I love the beach but hate sand. It drives me crazy. I swear you would think I had sensory disorders as much as I hate it. I guess I can manage though. The ocean, great food and endless relaxation makes it all ok.

4. I spend way too much time online. I browse message boards, read blogs, research stuff. I have made some really great friends online though that I wouldn't trade for the world.

5. I used to drag race my poor little Honda Civic. Give me a break, I was 18. My Lord I feel sorry for that car. I gave it such a hard life.

6. Historically, I have always said that I didn't want children. I love kids! It wasn't the kid part that scared me. It was labor and delivery and my humongous fear of needles that deterred me. Thankfully, my doctor scheduled a C-Section for me so I wouldn't have the whole traumatic experience but I still cried for the 48 hours leading up to Austin's birth. Looking back, it wasn't so bad and I wouldn't know what to do without my little guy now. I just love him to pieces.

7. I am a sap! Every little thing makes me cry. Happy things, sad things I still cry. I remember when I was about 6 years old, my step mom took me to see Follow that Bird (A Sesame Street movie) and my dad took my sister to see Terminator I think it was. I remember sitting in the theater crying my eyes out because the bad guys took Big Bird away from his family. Things haven't changed. I tear up about everything. Saturday, Austin's coach was talking to the kids, who were more interested in eating dirt, that he was so proud of them and he enjoyed being their coach. Silly me was teared up hiding behind my sunglasses and my camera.

8. I can't sleep past 6:00. I think my body has finally rewired itself from the days of sleeping until noon. Man, those where the days. Now, I automatically wake up at 6:00. I guess its a good thing during the week, but geesh, it stinks on Saturday.

9. I'm a CSI junkie. That is the only show I really try to watch. I really only like CSI: Las Vegas. New York and Miami hasn't ever really interested me. The technology is so interesting to me. I still can't figure out why they use flashlights in a dark home at night. Ummm, if you can find a killer from a toenail, can't you find the light switch and just turn on the overhead light? I still love them though.

10. I love being a creative person. I love painting, designing, planning & coordinating parties. I really enjoy doing anything artistic and creative. It is mind clearing to me to think about something and make it happen. Don't get me wrong. I've had plenty of "great ideas" that didn't work out in reality exactly how they did in my head, but the process is still fun none the less. Be creative! It feels good!

Whew, I'm glad I could find 10 things to say. I was getting worried around #7.

I've had over 1,000 hits to the blog. Unless my family is just feeling sorry for me and showing the love, thats awesome! I wished I knew who all had visited so I could thank them for stopping by. Anyway, thanks for keeping up to date with me to all my loyal blog readers. I appreciate all of you. I'm going to have to come up with a special contest this week to celebrate!

This is Miss McKinley. She has got to be one of the most compliant children I have ever photographed. She was seriously an angel through her whole session. I couldn't have asked for her to have cooperated any better. It was my pleasure photographing her on Saturday.

Ok, I love blogger just as much as the next guy. I love networking through it and finding old friends and keeping up to date on their lives and families. It is when I stumble upon the blog of a client that oftentimes I get irritated. I can't tell you how many times I've ran across blogs of clients that have my images plastered all over them and I didn't give them the files or the permission to scan them. Let me just say, if you want a few files to put on your blog, ask for them. I don't mind giving you a few good copies giving me proper credit. I don't mind at all.
Scanning copyright protected images is illegal and rude! Copyright infringement is a serious offense. Just ask someone who has been sued for it! Ahhh, I feel better having gotten that out. Back to your regularly scheduled blog reading!
